Holding fn and speaking writes what was said at the cursor, such as ሰላም፣ እንዴት ነህ.
The vowel follows the consonant it shapes, so slame becomes ሰላም.

Where your voice goes
Nothing is being recorded today. The beta is not open, and the only thing this page takes is your email address.
When it opens: what you say is sent to a server and transcribed there, not on your own machine. That is stated plainly because the word "AI" lets a reader assume either.
Whether a recording of yours is kept, and whether it trains a model, is a separate question asked separately — never bundled into using the tool. That is not a promise written for this page: it is the rule the recordings that exist today are already held to, and the privacy page describes the reviewer's half of it.
Before anybody speaks into the beta, what happens to audio will be written in full on the privacy page. Until then this page does not present what is undecided as decided.
